When I first read this post idea I thought, well that seems a little bit dramatic doesn’t it?! I mean there is so much going on in the world, and here you are talking or writing about things you can’t live without? Calm down, girl.
The second thought that popped into my head was all of the non-materialistic stuff, like my amazing husband and family. Which is all accurate but those aren’t really “things”, so I decided to give it a go, and see if I could actually name 10 things that I feel are worth a “I can’t live without” post. Here it goes…
Something that I didn’t originally put on this post is my Bible, but I feel as if that goes without saying (hence why I haven’t put a number to it). The Bible is how I base all my decisions in live, and naturally it guides me in everything, so of course that is one thing I cant live without.
1. Cell phone
Naturally the first thing that comes to mind would be my cell phone, apart from the obvious reasons, phone calls, messages ect. I use it for the majority of my world news, music and photo’s. It is literally with me wherever I go, which can be a bit of a problem I will be the first to admit.
This is not actually a joke to me, I think I am probably addicted to coffee. I have at least 4-5 cups of coffee a day.
3. Asthma Pump
This goes without saying, I would quite literally die without it.
I once made the mistake of leaving it in Italy while we traveled through London. It was the worst time of my life, on the bright side, everything took my breath away.
4. Wedding Ring
I despise not wearing my wedding ring, the only time I do actually take it off is when we go to the beach, or when I go to the gym. (Mostly because Angelo told me about this thing called “de-gloving” don’t look it up) If I’m not wearing it, I feel like everyone can tell I’m a terrible human being, and I suddenly have no clothes on.
5. My Digital Watch
I had to specify what type of watch it is because here is a small secret…. I actually really battle to tell the time on an analogue clock, I have no Idea why. In the past this always lead to awkward conversations when someone asked me the time and I was wearing a watch for pure ‘aesthetic’. I would usually just shove my wrist into their direction, they can tell the time themselves.
6. High-Waist Pants
I wouldn’t quite say this is something I couldn’t live without, but it’s definitely something that makes my life a lot more comfortable. I own high-waist jeans, in blue and black, as well as 2 regular stove pipe pants.
This could have actually been the point after coffee, but I forgot that they are basically in the same league. Currently I am loving Rooibos tea, which I hated drinking in South Africa, but now I drink 1 cup of Rooibos tea every night before I go to bed. Having said that I will drink any tea that is put in front of me.
8. A Good Movie/Series
Yes, my down-time includes binge watching Series, or old Movies. ESPECIALLY animated movies, those are my weakness.
Music has so much impact on how we feel, if I’m in a bad mood, I will listen to something I know that will change and lift my spirits. Specifically worship music, it soothes my soul, and makes everything better. It also helps me push a little bit harder in the gym.
I put this one last because these days, your phone and your camera are practically the same thing. There is just something a little extra special about getting behind a camera and taking a photo which you know will be an unforgettable memory, a little bit of history you get to look back on.
That is it, all 10 of my overly dramatic ’10 things I can’t live without post’.
In today’s world I feel as if there are many things that we choose not to live without, but if it really came down to it, all that matters is family and friends.
Leave a comment and tell me something you can’t live without!
